Sharing of Life Experience & History

Real people and real life stories, especially those from other cultures, are like mirrors which could give us a deeper reflection of our authentic selves. We will visit an old hutong couple who have protected the nearly three-hundred-year-old ceiling paintings in their family for more than 30 years.

Uncle Zhu and his wife’s traditional courtyard house is one of the best preserved private courtyards in Dongsi area. Let’s have a sip of tea and Beijing snacks while listening to Uncle Zhu talking about the legendary stories of his grand grandpa and his nine daughters.

Have fun doing role play of historical figures with your family or friends based on true stories in history, in one of the best-preserved traditional courtyards in Beijing. A mysterious gift will surprise you and bring you a most fun and unforgettable memory of Beijing.

Visit an eccentric collector, who dedicated all his life collecting hutong artifacts from the past dynasties. His life mission is cultural protection and inheritance. His street vendor chanting demonstration brings you back to the 1930’s or 1980’s of old Beijing hutongs.
